Wifirst continues its international expansion in Spain
French Tech exports to Spain
Spain is the world's 3rd largest tourist destination, but only 43rd in terms of hotel WiFi quality. In a country where tourism is a strategic sector, Internet access in accommodation is becoming increasingly urgent. Internet operator Wifirst, aware of this challenge for the hotel industry, intends to democratize WiFi that is not only high-performance for the customer, but also turnkey for the hotelier. After the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom, the Bolloré Group's High Tech subsidiary continues its international expansion in Spain, joining its partners Havas, Canal+ and Vivendi. The French operator has just signed its first contract with a leading player in the Spanish hotel industry. The 83-room luxury 5-star hotel, located in the heart of Barcelona, will be equipped with WiFi, enabling guests to connect to the Internet free of charge from anywhere in the hotel, at very high speed.
WiFi as a service": an ingenious and popular approach
Wifirst takes charge of the entire service chain, with a solution that includes installation and supervision of the WiFi network, creation of a customized interface, support for specific business needs, and telephone assistance for users. In this way, Wifirst becomes the single point of contact for hoteliers. This vision of "WiFi as a service", totally innovative in Spain, has also proved its worth in France. The Internet operator, which equips over 500,000 rooms with WiFi, has already won over one hotel in three in the 4- and 5-star segment. Coupled with unique expertise and privileged partnerships with equipment manufacturers such as Ruckus Wireless, this model enables Wifirst to win over hoteliers looking for simplicity. In addition to the promise of a smooth, seamless Internet connection, Wifirst guarantees controlled costs.
Proximity: the key to success
A team of WiFi experts for the hotel market has taken possession of the Wifirst offices on Barcelona's Avenida Diagonal.
Javier Garcia, head of international development in Spain, explains:
We are 100% committed to our presence in Spain, because this proximity to the market enables us to listen, respond to local demands and offer the most appropriate solutions for each case. Our promise is simple: WiFi works, and it works well. This quality of Wifirst, which is recognized by the market, is what enables us to build lasting relationships with hoteliers.
An organization that enables us to be in close contact with hoteliers while maintaining close links with our Paris head office.
