The Skolae network, which brings together around thirty schools from the GES, EDUCTIVE, and Abilways networks across France, has chosen Wifirst to equip all its campuses with a bespoke network infrastructure. With very specific needs related to intensive student usage, high user density, and security constraints, the group relied on Wifirst's expertise to design and deploy a high-performance and scalable managed WiFi and LAN solution.

A network designed for intensive student usage
Skolae campuses welcome hundreds of students every day, often simultaneously connected to multiple devices. Usage goes far beyond simple web browsing, including development environments, cloud deployments, and heavy collaborative projects. To deliver an optimal experience, Wifirst has implemented a bespoke infrastructure, integrating:
- Dedicated very high-speed fibre: Guaranteed throughput (2 to 10 Gbps per site) sized to absorb traffic peaks without slowdowns.
- Managed LAN: Stable and fast wired connectivity for computer rooms and workstations.
- High-density WiFi access points: Specifically chosen to manage a large number of simultaneous connections without performance loss.
- Managed WiFi: Coverage in all common areas and classrooms, adapted to campus footfall.
Gradual deployment, with no disruption to service
With around thirty campuses nationwide, this deployment is a major undertaking. To date, 19 sites are fully operated by Wifirst, with the remaining sites scheduled for 2025-2026. Each installation relies on a detailed technical study to precisely calibrate high-density equipment without interrupting service for users.
