The WiFi wave gains momentum
RBH Hospitality Management, which currently operates 70 hotels in the UK, has chosen Wifirst, creator of Europe's first "WiFi as a Service" platform, to digitalize its hotels.
Wifirst launches a promising first pilot
Deployed on a first pilot site, the Aberdeen Altens Hotel, one of Aberdeen's most renowned conference centers, Wifirst's WiFi solution offers free high-speed access in all areas of the hotel. The hotel's 216 rooms and 400-seat seminar room are connected to a Wifirst-managed fiber optic cable connected to its own core network.
Vibhu Gaind, Director of Information Systems at RBH, comments:
We are very pleased with the work carried out by Wifirst - the results for the Aberdeen Altens speak for themselves. The service is outstanding and the roll-out was fast and efficient, which is exactly what we needed to minimize disruption to our guests. Our guests can now enjoy an even faster, free and unlimited WiFi connection, which has a positive impact on their overall hotel experience.
A scalable WiFi solution
The service offered by Wifirst could rapidly evolve, as the network installed at the Aberdeen Altens Hotel is compatible with the innovative "Room Area Network" solution by Wifirst. This solution consists of creating a private WiFi network in each room, so that guests can enjoy a truly home-like connection experience. On the one hand, the Room Area Network solution allows guests to connect all their equipment (even those that can't usually access the connection portal), and on the other, it enables the equipment connected to the room network to interact with each other (exchanging files, using connected speakers, etc.).
