Wifirst fibre: a dedicated solution for businesses
Business fibre throughout Europe, at the best price.
Why install Wifirst fibre ?
Fibre transmits data incredibly fast and offers high bandwidth. In today's world, where a reliable Internet connection is crucial for customer satisfaction and employee productivity, business fibre is the perfect choice for businesses aiming to boost their performance. Simply put, fibre is a major upgrade from ADSL, delivering much better performance and meeting the increasing demands for modern connectivity.
A multi-operator network for best-price business fibre
The Wifirst network offers exceptional reach and reliability by partnering with both major and alternative operators. This diverse network allows Wifirst to choose the best sub-networks based on the site's location, the quality and strength of nearby networks, and cost-effectiveness.

Which business fibre should you pick?
Fibre-to-the-office (FTTO)
FTTO fibre is a fibre used exclusively by your company, with genuine service commitments: guaranteed throughput, symmetrical throughput (upload = download) and guaranteed 4-hour recovery time in the event of failure. It is therefore designed to offer very high availability, as connectivity is critical in a business environment.
Fibre-to-the-premise (FTTP)
Mutualised business fibre is a consumer offer that has been repackaged for businesses. It is known as Business FTTP. Unlike dedicated fibre-to-the-home, this solution is a shared fibre offering for several establishments. Even so, it is capable of delivering high speeds (up to 1 Gbps, depending on operator and eligibility). However, this figure represents the maximum achievable throughput (referred to as "peak throughput").

Sizing your company's business fibre
Sizing is essential. An underestimated bandwidth will generate slowdowns and frustrations. An overestimated throughput will result in unnecessary extra costs. We provide you with methods to help you order your FTTO fibre capacity as accurately as possible.

Why switch to business fibre?
Switching to business fibre offers many advantages for businesses and establishments that welcome the public.
- High speed and bandwidth: Fibre lines offer much higher connection speeds than traditional connections, enabling faster data transfer. This is essential for businesses that need to download and share large files, manage data-intensive applications and ensure a smooth user experience.
- Reliability: Fibre optic connections are renowned for their reliability. They are less prone to disruption from electromagnetic interference, weather and hardware failure. This ensures stable, constant connectivity, which is essential for mission-critical business operations.
- Reduced latency: Fibre offers significantly lower latency than traditional technologies, which is essential for real-time applications such as videoconferencing, online financial transactions and online gaming.
- Enhanced security: Fibre lines are difficult to hack, as they do not radiate electromagnetic signals that hackers could intercept. This enhances the security of sensitive corporate data.
- Scalability: Fibre networks are easily scalable to meet your company's growth needs. You can increase bandwidth without having to replace existing infrastructure.
- Support for advanced applications: Fibre lines are needed to support advanced applications such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, high-quality VoIP telephony and cloud computing, which are increasingly common in business environments.
In summary, switching to business fibre boosts productivity, enhances security, and increases flexibility and competitiveness. It allows businesses to fully leverage advanced digital technologies and adapt to evolving connectivity needs.
Why is FTTO more expensive than FTTP?
The difference in cost between FTTP and FTTO is linked to the level of service you receive. The FTTO offer guarantees throughput, which means you can cope with peak loads in hotels and student residences, for example. In the event of a technical problem, we are also committed to restoring your installation within a few hours. These two features make FTTO an indispensable ally for businesses with high connectivity needs.
What if my site isn't eligible for fibre?
If you don't need that much bandwidth, Wifirst can aggregate several ADSL lines to provide an acceptable bandwidth. This is limited to certain cases, and does not take full advantage of the quality standards of the infrastructure deployed by Wifirst.
A 4G/5G or satellite connection may also be considered. These options may represent relevant alternatives for certain customers.
What are the advantages of symmetrical bandwidth?
Traditional Internet Access offers generally feature a much higher download speed than upload. However, for certain uses, a high upload speed is necessary. This is particularly the case for videoconferencing, IP telephony, cloud computing and any other data-sending application.
Does the quality of a WiFi network depend on fibre lines?
A WiFi infrastructure can be optimised to maximise performance, but will always depend on the line speed. As a result, a limited data rate will always represent the biggest obstacle to a quality WiFi service in a configuration with demanding connectivity needs. Fibre optics, and more specifically dedicated fibre, are therefore highly recommended for powering a wireless infrastructure.
