Developers and operators of residential properties continue to rely on WiFi for indoor coverage in buildings, and for good reason:

A framework agreement that protects all parties

However, when it comes to building construction, our teams are systematically put in touch with the developer Vinci Immobilier. The shared objective is to work well in advance of a building's delivery to design the network and lay the cables during the construction phase.
Important prerequisites
It is very difficult to carry out a network audit on plans for an unoccupied construction site. At Wifirst, we always carry out an on-site audit after the building has been completed. However, this does not prevent us from taking advantage of the construction phase to ask the developer to comply with our specifications, which bring together best practices for RJ45 LAN deployment in a residential building. Here are a few excerpts:
- 5GHz WiFi coverage regularly requires the installation of WiFi access points in homes. Always provide one RJ45 socket per home (false ceiling, non-metallic service duct, office space).
- In communal areas, do not hesitate to run cables in places where equipment (such as televisions) is likely to be installed.
- Enable flexibility. Usage has tripled in four years. When building, consider the scalability of a telecoms network and identify ways to facilitate cable routing (and avoid cable ducts).
