The Challenge

For its Spanish residences, Xior was looking for a connectivity partner capable of delivering a WiFi network with 100% coverage across the entire facility — as later achieved at Collblanc Barcelona. The group also needed a network architecture flexible enough to integrate third-party services (as deployed in the Zaragoza project) and to provide a dedicated, isolated network for staff. Above all, Xior needed a partner whose service standards would match the brand's reputation for quality — across every site, every day.

The Solution

Wifirst deployed WiFi 6/7 across all selected Xior residences, paired with a redundant Wibox to guarantee 100% availability. To enable both third-party integration and a dedicated staff network, Wifirst designed a tailored WeConnect solution, with a converged network model adopted on the most demanding sites. In Zaragoza, fibre links were rolled out between buildings to enable single, unified management — a shared network highway that supports more services across the residence as if there were no physical separation between buildings.

The Network & Usage in Numbers

The Wifirst infrastructure now powers 3 Xior residences in Spain — Lofttown Barcelona, Zaragoza and Collblanc — and the data tells the story of a network that has become a daily essential for residents:

A European Partnership

Xior is more than a Spanish reference for Wifirst. Through our Dutch sister company ITT, the partnership extends to multiple Xior residences in the Netherlands, where ITT has built a long-standing relationship with the group based on three pillars: quality of service, contractual reliability, and full transparency on costs.

Following the acquisition of ITT, the new group now manages Xior as a European-wide key account, combining Wifirst's strength in Southern Europe with ITT's reputation in the Benelux. Sales, engineering and account management teams collaborate across borders — bringing each new Xior residence the benefit of a single, coordinated partner with deep local presence in every market the group enters.

The Results

Since the integration of the Wifirst infrastructure, Xior has seen a steady rise in resident satisfaction — particularly at Loftown Barcelona — alongside massive day-to-day use of the network by both students and staff, while consistently meeting the quality standards defined by Xior, including the 100% coverage achieved at Collblanc Barcelona.
