Success Story

MK2 Paradiso, a unified network for a unique experience

Hotel paradisio

With 26 cinemas and no fewer than 9 million spectators every year, mk2 defends a unique vision of cinema. In 2021, the group opened its very first cinema-hotel in Paris, the Hôtel Paradiso. To guarantee the reliability of this unique experience, mk2 called on Wifirst to design a high-end unified network capable of supporting intensive guest use (HD streaming, casting) and business operations (POS, VoIP).

// THE USER EXPERIENCE CHALLENGE

Each of the 34 rooms and 2 suites has been designed as a mini-cinema, equipped with cutting-edge technologies: AppleTV, Chromecast, video-projectors, and connected audio systems.

Designing a unique immersive experience

For guests, the experience is intuitive: a QR Code connects them to the room's WiFi and grants instant access to the digital ecosystem (projector, speakers). Thanks to the Wifirst solution interconnected with the Bowo app, guests can easily cast their playlists and streaming content.

// TECHNICAL CHALLENGES

A cutting-edge unified network

Wifirst implemented a professional high-performance WiFi infrastructure to eliminate interference. The network is managed via Meraki switches for enhanced control and Ruckus access points for uniform, reliable connectivity.

Security is ensured by Wifirst's Room Area Network (RAN) technology: each room has its own isolated VLAN. This ensures that streaming remains private and prevents access to the room's network after the guest has checked out.

The architecture deployed results in an outstanding WiFi Booking score of 9.4/10, illustrating the success of this innovative project at the crossroads of hospitality and culture.

"We took our promise of a cinema in every room literally, opting for the best technologies available, both for image and sound, and for the network infrastructure. To make this possible, we needed a network system that was extremely reliable and enabled simultaneous film distribution to all hotel rooms in high definition."
