Whether in the capital on business or for pleasure The Cavendish London, located in the heart of prestigious Mayfair, Piccadilly, is the perfect 4-star deluxe hotel from which to explore everything central London has to offer. Situated on Jermyn Street, St James, The Cavendish London boasts 230 deluxe rooms offering guests a stylish experience within easy reach of the capital’s famous Regent Street shops, West End theatres, World class art galleries, restaurants and iconic landmarks.
The hotel had previously purchased a WiFi infrastructure which had become old, outdated and difficult to maintain. As a result, guests were beginning to experience difficulties when connecting, which impacted the hotel's guest satisfaction feedback. The WiFi service was not in line with today's guest's expectations, and negative reviews had started to appear on TripAdvisor and Booking.com amongst other hotel review sites. The Cavendish Hotel wanted to rectify this and turned to Wifirst for assistance.
Wifirst worked closely with The Cavendish and The Ascott Group to understand their current challenges before undertaking a full wireless site survey to address all areas of concern. The entire building infrastructure required redeployment enabling the new wireless access points to be correctly located in positions that would provide good WiFi coverage throughout all of the guestrooms. A total of 81 access points were then connected on to a Fibre Leased Line providing 200MB of bandwidth to the hotel.
Hotel guests can now enjoy reliable WiFi throughout the entire building at incredibly fast speeds, any time of day or night. Additionally, the network was also configured with a secure, separate WiFi network, enabling staff to access company resources with more efficiency than ever previously seen. Feedback from staff and guests alike was so positive that the hotel's management company, The Ascott Group contracted Wifirst for provision of over 40 additional hotels across Europe.
